Tom Sprawls was elected to serve on the Odessa City Council in November and was sworn in on November 28, 2018.
He attended Texas Tech University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration. After working in the material handling and trucking business for several years, he came to Odessa as the General Manager of a truck dealership. For 24 years he managed the dealership, winning the Peterbilt Dealer of the Year twice. He retired in May, 2018.
Tom admits that being part of Odessa has blessed him and his family. He believes in the opportunity and continued growth of Odessa Texas. Those beliefs lead to his desire to contribute to a community of people that have been his friends and neighbors for 25 years. He has been active in numerous boards and organizations. He serves on the Ector County Appraisal District, Disciples Village (a HUD project) and Southwest 66 Credit Union. He has been active in MOTRANS and the Texas Trucking Association. He is a past board member the Rainbow’s End Emmaus Community, and Past President of the Odessa Rotary Club. He has held most lay positions in his church.
Tom and his wife, Patti, are proud of their three adult children and three lovely grandchildren.
