A native West Texan with 15+ years of Parks and Recreation experience, Max Reyes has served in various leadership positions in municipal government and gained a wealth of knowledge and understanding of community needs and solutions. He received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the Permian Basin and is working to pursue his Masters in Public Administration.
Max graduated from Leadership Midland and gained experience and knowledge in several areas throughout the city and businesses, along with valuable networking resources. While with the City of Midland, he was very involved with all aspects of Sports and Sports Associations. He was heavily involved in all Associations, Boards and advised the associations with the City’s interest in mind. Max was very active in Texas Turf Grass, NRPA, TRAPS, other Parks and Rec resources, and the Municipal Golf Course. He was instrumental in building the $42 million Scharbauer Sports Complex. Football/Soccer stadium with a multi-activity Turf area. The Double-A affiliate of the Oakland A’s Baseball field and the Open Space surrounding the Complex (Concerts, Car Shows, Arts and Crafts, Carnivals, Tex-Mex events, etc.). He has been recognized for monetary savings and leadership awards.
He has more than 35+ years of experience in Youth, High School, and Adult Sports on several levels. Max is married to Gina Reyes, and they have 3 boys (Matt, Devin, and Erik), 1 daughter-in-law Samantha, and 3 great grandsons (Reid, Brooks, and Cooper- the Little Princes to be born in October 2023).
