Woman Arrested after Biting OPD Officer & Damaging OPD Police Vehicle
Odessa Police arrested Nohemi Lozano Medina, date of birth 10/26/1984, on 1-2-19 at approximately 1142 hours for Assault on a Public Servant “3rd Degree Felony”, Possession of a Dangerous Drug “Class A Misdemeanor”, Criminal Mischief “Class B Misdemeanor”, and Driving While License Invalid with Prior Convictions “Class B Misdemeanor”.
Officers responded to the 2100 block of West 8th Street in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the complainant, who advised that Nohemi Medina had broken out a window to her residence before fleeing the scene in a blue Nissan Altima. Officers located the listed vehicle in the 2100 block of West 9th Street and conducted a traffic stop.
The driver of the listed vehicle, identified as Medina, failed to comply with officers’ commands and began to walk away. While officers attempted to detain Medina, she bit an OPD officer on his left hand, leaving a distinct bite mark. Medina was found to be in possession of Hydroxyzine Hydro chloride and was unable to provide a prescription.
Medina was placed into custody and placed in the back of a marked OPD unit. While Medina was being transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center, she repeatedly kicked the back passenger door, causing damage to the speaker mounted on it. Medina was charged and arrested accordingly.
