Odessa Fire Rescue Earns the Gold
Odessa Fire Rescue (OFR) receives Gold recognition status from the American Heart Association for excellent STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction) care.
OFR Emergency Medical Service met four criteria, established by the American Heart Association, in the treatment of heart attack patients. The measures impact the care and outcome of the patient. Measures include 12 lead recognition in the field by paramedics as well as coordination and communication between 9-1-1 personnel, OFR paramedics and hospital staff.
The American Heart Association’s Gold recognition is the leading achievement award for pre-hospital cardiac care. OFR has received bronze and sliver recognition for the past three years.
