Odessa Police Make 2 Arrests in Connection to Child Endangerment/DWI Investigation
Odessa Police arrested Troy Lynn Teague, date of birth 09/30/1973, on 2-24-18 at approximately 2019 hours for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More “3rd Degree Felony”. Odessa Police also arrested Shannon Currey Teague, date of birth 07/08/1980, for three counts of Endangering a Child “State Jail Felony”. Officers responded to the 4900 block of McKnight in reference to a disturbance involving several subjects fighting.
Dispatch advised the subjects were occupying a dark-colored pickup. Upon arrival, officers observed a blue 1990 Chevrolet pickup traveling southbound on McKnight and made contact with the occupants. The driver of the listed vehicle was identified as Troy Teague and the front passenger was identified as Shannon Teague. The back passengers were identified as a 3-year-old female and two 2-year-old males.
Shannon Teague advised officers that she had beat up a female who was no longer on scene. While making contact with Troy Teague, officers could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and found him to have slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and unsteady balance. Troy Teague was placed into custody for driving while intoxicated after failing field sobriety tests.
Investigation revealed that Troy Teague had two prior convictions for driving while intoxicated. Officers also found Shannon Teague to be intoxicated. Due to the fact that Shannon Teague was intoxicated and allowed her husband who was intoxicated to operate a motor vehicle with their three children, she was charged and arrested accordingly. CPS was notified of the incident and the children were released to a family member.

Man Arrested after Throwing Hot Coffee on Wife’s Face & 9-Month-Old Child
Odessa Police arrested Rick Earl Lewis, date of birth 01/25/1992, on 2-22-18 at approximately 0844 hours for Endangering a Child “State Jail Felony” and Assault Family Violence “Class C Misdemeanor”. Officers responded to the 900 block of East Monahans in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with a 29-year-old female and her husband, identified as Lewis. Investigation revealed that after both subjects got into an argument inside of their vehicle, Lewis became angry and threw hot coffee in her face. Lewis also attempted to hit his wife with a phone but she blocked it.
Their 9-month-old son was sitting in the backseat of their vehicle during the disturbance. The hot coffee landed on and around the car seat and headrest where the child was sitting. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Lewis was charged and arrested accordingly.
