ASCO held its 11th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Sunset Golf Course, benefiting the Ernest Cecil Foundation.
The nonprofit helps rescue girls 17 years old and under who have been rescued from the sex trade industry. Long-term physical, spiritual, and emotional support is given for healing.
Something else positive: ASCO agreed to double any donations of up to $10,000.
Odessa City Council Member Denise Swanner attended the tournament.
“This is an issue I’m passionate about. I’ve met victims who have been sex trafficked, and it’s painful to hear their stories.”
A 10,000 sq ft building has been donated to the organization, but to set it up, they need a piece of land to construct it on. This would allow them the space to help even more victims.
If you or someone you know would be willing to donate a piece of land to this organization, please get in touch with Denise Swanner at 432-335-3276 or the foundation at (432) 251-3119.
