Major crash takes a woman's life.
On August 1st, 2023, at about 5:03 am, Odessa Police and Odessa Fire Rescue responded to a major accident in the 2100 Block of the South I-20 service road. The investigation revealed that a 2002 Ford Expedition was eastbound on the south service road, and a White 2023 Chevrolet Silverado was westbound.
The Expedition crossed into the westbound lane and struck the Chevrolet. The driver of the Expedition, 33-year-old Gloria Gutierrez, was pronounced dead at the scene. The next of kin has been notified.
The driver of the Chevrolet sustained serious bodily injuries and was transported to Medical Center Hospital. The investigation continues.
