Five months ago, the Galindo family found Fifi starving on the streets. They think she may have been abused. Young Logan begged his mom to keep her.
Then, on Father’s Day, there was another tragic turn for the once-homeless dog. They came home to find their beloved Fifi bleeding on the ground. So, they rushed the doggie to the vet, and she was rushed into surgery. These days, she’s doing better and is a little fighter.
“I’m
using this awful experience to teach my son about responsible pet ownership,” said Sasha Galindo, Logan’s mom.
The 12 year old has been selling lemonade, hot dogs, and cookies to raise money. The support from our community has been overwhelming. Besides working to pay those vet bills, young Logan has been carrying Fifi outside to use the bathroom and giving her all of her medications. Anything and everything he can to take care of his fur baby.
We love these feel-good stories and seeing how, once again, Odessans step up to help out one another.
