About 30 years ago, Troy Walker decided to go into business for himself. He was just 21 years old and one of the youngest business owners at the time in Odessa.
“I was told it was never going to work.”
He started Troy Walker Air Conditioning and is still at it in full force today. Troy recalls five downturns that included oil busts and COVID.
We asked this Odessa man his secret to owning a business for three decades. He says it’s simple, it’s about relationships and honesty.
“Do unto others as you want them to do unto you!”
Troy and his wife have seven children, three work for the company.
“I’ve been blessed. God has blessed us.”
Troy has certainly beat the odds. This sheds some light on the business rate survival.
