Jose Saenz and Norma Maya brought their 13-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son to last night's Neighborhood Watch Meeting. The topic was fentanyl awareness and prevention.
"We want to be informed of what's going on and have seen fentanyl on the news," Jose says. "We wanted more information on how to prevent it and we believe that as parents, it is important to be proactive about your kids."
The family heard about this event from their daughter's school, Bowie Middle School. We thank them for attending!
OPD and PBRCADA reccomend educating children early about illicit drugs. We greatly appreciate when parents bring their kids to these vital meetings. It is important to have an open conversation about the dangers of fentanyl and how to avoid it.
