National Animal Control Officer Week is April 9th - 15th, 2023. Today, we're highlighting Officer Anissa Marquez, who has worked as an ACO for 5 years come July.
Officer Marquez wanted to be a part of Animal Services because she wanted to join the front lines in animal advocacy. "It’s one thing to talk about how animals should be treated, versus putting in the work to make a difference," she says.
When asked what she enjoys about her job, Officer Marquez said, "I enjoy any calls that pertain to livestock, or wildlife, especially birds of prey. I also love watching the animals I bring into the shelter find their way into loving homes, knowing that they are better now than when I found them." We agree that it's always heartwarming seeing stray animals find a loving home!
Thank you, Officer Anissa Marquez, for serving our community and the animals that live in it. We appreciate what you do!
