The Crimes Against Persons Unit is involved in the investigations of all:
- Assaults
- Injury to children or the elderly
- Sexual assaults of children
- Sexual assaults
This includes offenses that involve family violence.
The Crimes Against Persons Unit is also assigned to track sex offenders and file cases on those out of compliance. When needed, the Crimes Against Persons Unit assists the Homicide unit with investigations of homicide, robbery and missing persons, as well.
Staff & Agency Collaboration
The Crimes Against Persons Unit is comprised of 1 sergeant and 6 investigators. These investigators work closely with other agencies that are involved with their cases:
- The Crisis Center
- Harmony Home Children's Advocacy Center
- Texas Department of Family Protective Services
