Downtown Odessa, Inc. is a grassroots, volunteer-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to the revitalization of Downtown Odessa.
The organization is a charitable 501(c)3 organization by the Internal Revenue Service. Individual, civic and business contributions to Downtown Odessa, Inc. are tax-deductible. Downtown Odessa, Inc. is strongly supported by the City of Odessa, as well as many caring individuals and local firms.
Downtown Odessa, Inc. was created in 2007 under the umbrella of Main Street Odessa, a 501(c) 6 nonprofit, in partnership with the Texas Main Street Association program. In 2015, the Main Street Odessa Board of Directors evolved into Downtown Odessa, Inc.
Downtown Odessa, Inc. is dedicated to the creative utilization, historical preservation and promotion of the greater downtown area for the benefit of Odessa.

The Board of Directors of Downtown Odessa, Inc. is made up of seven individuals appointed by each City Council member and the Mayor. Each director serves concurrent terms with the council member they were appointed by. The Mayor, City Manager, One council member, the organization's Executive Director, and a City of Odessa legal representative serve as ex officio to the board as well.

Downtown Odessa, Inc.'s Board of Directors and its Director work closely with the Odessa City Council and the City Manager's Office in downtown economic development efforts.
Downtown Odessa Boundaries
In early 2016, Odessa Mayor David R. Turner and City Council established the boundaries of Downtown Odessa as 1st to 10th Streets and Bernice Avenue to Adams Avenue.
Downtown Odessa is home to the finest first-class medical facilities in the West Texas region - Medical Center Health Systems and Odessa Regional Medical Center flank the downtown district to the west and east, respectively, and are connected by the beautiful tree-lined 5th Street corridor.

Newly opened in Fall 2019, Downtown Odessa is home to the more than 200-room, full-service, headquartered Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. The hotel is located on 5th Street at Texas Avenue in the core of downtown.
The public-private partnership between the City of Odessa and local hotel investors is an investment of $77 million in Downtown Odessa.
The state-of-the-art conference center boasts 78,271 square feet of conference space, including a grand ballroom and junior ballroom. The project includes an open-air plaza facing 5th Street, a parking garage with over 200 spaces, and the renovation of the historic Ector Theater which opened in April 2022.
Dine - A Culinary Arts Epicenter
Downtown Odessa is an epicenter for local culinary arts and cuisine. Across from City Hall, dine inside a restored bungalow to feast on a fusion of Hispanic and Asian cuisine at Chef Prado's, Rooster's Diner. If you're in the mood for an old-fashioned hamburger, visit a downtown institution - the Permian Basin Hamburger Company on Grant Avenue. The Hamburger Company's House Specialty is a local tradition - the Chili Cheeseburger.
