Utility Service Fee Schedule
Water tap fee. The fee for the water tap and
setting of the water meter shall be as follows:
Fee for taps on concrete cylinder pipe shall be estimated on a per job basis. 3/4 inch tap for irrigation meter set at the same time as a water tap $230.00 Note: Taps for schools, medical facilities and restaurants include a test port. Tap cost does not include the cost of pavement cut, boring or other special services. (See payment cut or boring fee) Sewer tap fee. The fee for the sewer tap shall be as follows: 4 inch tap
$350.00 Note: Cost of tap for a sewer line 8" and larger will be estimated by the job. Service initiation fee. The fee for initiating new service shall be $15.00. Service vacation fee. At the customer's request, the city will discontinue water service for a temporary period. A fee of $15.00 shall be assessed for service discontinued for a period of 16 days or more. No service vacation fee shall be charged for 15 days or less. Transfer of Service fee. The fee for transfer of service shall be $15.00. After hours service fee. The fee for non-emergency water service calls performed between 6 pm. and 8 am. Monday through Friday, and all day Saturday, Sunday and holidays shall be $15.00. This fee shall be in addition to any other applicable service charge. Disconnect for nonpayment fee. The fee for disconnection because of nonpayment of a city utility bill shall be $20.00. Meter removal fee. The fee for removing a meter shall be $25.00. This fee shall be paid prior to resetting the meter. Field collection fee. A fee of $15.00 shall be applied for any action taken by field personnel, short of termination of service, to collect for non-payment of a city utility bill. Actions may include, but are not limited to, collecting payment, leaving an extension for payment, or working on a cut-off listing. Tampering with utility property fee. The fee for tampering with a meter, meter device or other utility property shall be $150.00. Tampering with utility property shall include but not be limited to opening or closing any hydrant, stopcock or valve connected to the water system; to interfere with, destroy, deface, impair, or force open any main or service pipe, cock, valve, lock or other apparatus pertaining to the water system; to resort to any fraudulent device or arrangement for the purpose of procuring water; to turn on the water supply to any building or to supply pipe where the water has been turned off for nonpayment of water charges or violation of any rule or ordinance governing the water system. Delinquent account fee. A fee in the amount of 5% of the balance due will be added to utility bills which remain unpaid 25 days after the billing date. Meter test fee. The fee for a customer-requested meter test shall be $25.00. If the meter is found to be registering water consumption at an average of greater than 102% or less than 98% the fee shall be credited to the customer's account. The Director of Billing and Collection will be authorized to make adjustments on the customer's account as deemed appropriate. Plug sewer fee. The fee for plugging a sewer will be a minimum of $150.00 or the cost of the actual labor and materials to plug the sewer. Pavement cut or boring fee. The fee for pavement cut and patch is based on the square yard measurement of the surface cut area and all associated costs. The fee for boring under a paved roadway will be estimated and charged on a job by job basis. Manhole installation fee. The fee for manhole installation exceeding six feet deep will be estimated on a job by job basis and will include all cost incurred by the City. The manner of installation is at the sole discretion of the City. Meter relocation fee. The fee for customer requested move of a meter location will be estimated and charged on a job by job basis. Backflow prevention assembly fee. The fee for tracking the testing and maintenance of backflow assemblies to be assessed at $10/assembly/year collected at the time of testing. |
