Common Questions
- Ordinances that pertain to the regulation of animals can be found in Chapter Four of the City Code.

- The most frequently answered question at the Shelter is how many pets can a citizen have in Odessa? You can own up to four pets.

- For citizens that live outside the city limits the Shelter can provide you with Ector County Regulations on dogs and cats.

- The one rule that is important for county residents to know is if your dog or cat is not wearing a currently vaccinated Rabies tag/county license you can not allow it to be at large. Unvaccinated pets must be restrained.

- Citizens can leave a message after hours on our answering machine for lost pets, routine calls for service or animal neglect cases.

- Animal Control provides service to citizens within the City of Odessa and the County.
