Water Restrictions Effective April 1
• Outdoor irrigation of landscaping, filling of ponds, pools and fountains will be limited to two (2) hours once a week
Residents and businesses with an even address will be allowed to water on Tuesdays for any two (2) hours between 6 pm and 10 pm only.
Residents and businesses with an odd address will be allowed to water on Thursdays for any two (2) hours between 6 pm and 10 pm only.
• Hand Watering is permitted, but the hose must be equipped with a positive shutoff nozzle.
Hose end sprinklers and open ended hoses are prohibited.
Automatic sprinklers are prohibited.
• Drip irrigation and soaker hoses are permitted.
• Swimming pools can be filled to replace normal water loss due to evaporation.
Empty swimming pools may be filled with water not from the City supply. Proof the water came from an outside source must be presented and City personnel must be present at the time of the filling. Contact Community Development at 432.335.4820 to schedule an appointment.
• Ponds requiring less than 250 gallons of water may be filled during the two hour time period on the designated day.
Ponds requiring more than 250 gallons of water may be filled or refilled with water not from the City supply. Proof the water came from an outside source must be presented and City personnel must be present at the time of the filling. Contact Community Development at 432.335.4820 to schedule an appointment.
• Fountains shorter than three (3) feet may be filled during the two hour time period on the designated day.

• Restaurants may only serve a glass of water upon request by the customer.
Previous restrictions remain in effect:
• Vehicle washing is limited to commercial and mobile car washing only.
• Washing down of sidewalks, walkways, driveways, parking lots, streets and gutters is prohibited
• Washing down of building is prohibited, unless for fire protection.
• All water leaks must be repaired within a reasonable time frame
Water wells are exempt from the restrictions, but are subject to the City Nuisance Water Ordinance that prohibits the run off of water into public streets or alleys.
The City of Odessa’s raw water allocation from the Colorado River Municipal Water District (CRMWD) will be reduced from 22.4 million gallons a day to 16 million gallons per day effective April 1. Citizen adherence to these restrictions is mandatory for our community’s water supply.
