Filiberto Gonzales was born in Pecos, Texas where he worked as a young boy picking onions and cantaloupes. He is a proud first generation Mexican-American. He is a long Odessa resident for over 35 years. He was elected as Council member District Five and took office on November 25, 2014.
Council member Gonzales is a State Farm agent. He has been an agent for five years. His inspiration to enter into his career field was his desire to educate and influence the community in a positive way. As a successful business owner, he attributes his father and mother’s encouragement to never forget where he came from and to give back to the community.
Council member Gonzales serves on the Mayor’s Drug and Crime Commission, Rotary Walkway Committee and the Permian Basin Regional Planning Commission.
He has been married to Guadalupe for over 25 years. Filiberto and Guadalupe are the proud parents of their three sons, Filiberto III, Reymundo and Marco Antonio. They are also proud of their one grand-daughter Khloe’ Rose.
