Citizens Fire Academy

February 24, 2015 – Odessans have the opportunity to gain an insider’s view of Odessa Fire/Rescue by participating in the 2015 Citizens Fire Academy.

The academy is a hands on opportunity for citizens to become familiar with firefighting apparatus, learn about emergency medical services, vehicle extrication, fire prevention, hazardous materials, technical rescue, fire investigations, as well as receive fire extinguisher and CPR training.

The ten week program begins March 10, 2015 and will be held every Tuesday evening between 7 and 9:30 p.m.

Anyone wanting to learn more about Odessa Fire/Rescue, increase their fire and life safety awareness, and reduce the number of lives lost and property damage in our community is encouraged to attend the 2015 Citizens Fire Academy.


The deadline to submit applications is March 4, 2015. Applications are available here or can be picked up at the Central / Administration Fire Station, 1100 W. Second Street. Applications must be turned in at same location.
