Odessa Police Make Arrest in Connection to 2 Aggravated Robberies

DATE/TIME REPORTED: March 7, 2018 at approximately 2121 hours & 2231 hours
LOCATION: 3615 North Dixie (The HIVE Comics) & 1401 West University (Seven Eleven)
SUMMARY:

Odessa Police have made an arrest in connection to two aggravated robberies that occurred late Wednesday evening in North Odessa. Joshua Palmer, date of birth 05/01/1990, has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Robbery “1st Degree Felony”, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon “3rd Degree Felony”, and Possession of Marijuana “Class B Misdemeanor”.

On 3-7-18 at approximately 2121 hours, Odessa Police responded to 3615 North Dixie in reference to a robbery. Investigation revealed that an unknown male subject approached the victim and demanded all of their property while displaying a gun. The suspect took the victim’s cell phone and car keys before fleeing the scene in the victim’s brown 2012 Buick Regal. There were no reports of any injuries.

On 3-7-18 at approximately 2231 hours, Odessa Police responded to 1401 West University in reference to a robbery. Investigation revealed that an unknown male subject approached the victim while they were pumping gas and demanded all of their property while displaying a gun. The suspect took the victim’s debit card before fleeing the scene in a black four-door vehicle.

The stolen Buick Regal was later located in the area of 57th Street and Fort Worth. The Odessa Police Department and Ector County Sheriff’s Office both pursued the listed vehicle before it crashed into a vehicle in the area of 57th and Golder. The driver of the stolen vehicle, identified as Palmer, was found to be in possession of the same debit card that had been stolen from 1401 West University.

Palmer was found to be in possession of a gun and marijuana. Investigation revealed that Palmer was a convicted felon. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Palmer was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
