Odessa Police Make 2 Arrests in Connection to Aggravated Assault / Stolen Firearm Investigation

Odessa Police have made two arrests in connection to an aggravated assault that occurred early Sunday morning at the Western Oaks Mobile Home Park. Jose Sigero-Contreras, date of birth 07/02/1997, has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon “2nd Degree Felony” and Luis Miguel Sigero-Contreras, date of birth 07/30/1992, has been charged with Theft of a Firearm “State Jail Felony”.

On March 4, 2018 at approximately 0452 hours, Odessa Police responded to 2525 West 3rd Street in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a 31-year-old male, who was immediately transported to Medical Center Hospital with serious bodily injury.

Investigation revealed that after the 31-year-old male got into an argument with a Jose Sigero-Contreras, Jose Sigero-Contreras struck the 31-year-old in the head multiple times with a beer bottle. Jose Sigero-Contreras then fled the scene before police arrived.

While officers were on scene, the complainant reported that Jose Sigero-Contreras and his uncle, later identified as Luis Miguel Sigero-Contreras, were returning to the scene to start shooting. Within minutes, officers observed two vehicles driving towards them with one of the vehicles honking its horn.

Officers made contact with both vehicles, including an orange Dodge Charger. The driver of the Charger was identified as Luis Miguel Sigero-Contreras and the front passenger was identified as Jose Sigero-Contreras. Luis Miguel Sigero-Contreras was found to be in possession of a stolen gun from Midland.

Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, both subjects were charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
