Odessa Police Make Arrest in Connection to Burglary/Assault Investigation
Odessa Police arrested Sergio Salazar Duran, date of birth 12/11/1979, on 2-6-18 at approximately 1900 hours for Burglary of a Habitation with intent to Commit another Felony (Family Violence) “1st Degree Felony”. Officers responded to 4230 East 53rd Street (Brady Station Apartments) in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with the 26-year-old complainant, who advised that she had been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, identified as Salazar Duran. The complainant reported that Salazar Duran had been harassing her by texting and calling her over one hundred times in one day.
The complainant advised that Salazar Duran came to her apartment to see their child but that it was not his visitation day. Investigation revealed that Salazar Duran entered the apartment without consent and attempted to hug and kiss the complainant. Salazar Duran then grabbed the complainant’s right hand and twisted it before leaving the scene.
Salazar Duran later returned and knocked on the door while officers were still on scene. A 43-year-old male subject who was inside the apartment during the altercation confirmed that Salazar Duran entered the apartment without permission. Salazar Duran was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC.
