Odessa Police Make Arrest in Connection to Aggravated Assault Investigation
Odessa Police arrested Brandon Cruz Ramirez, date of birth 06/13/1994, on 1-31-18 at approximately 2209 hours for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon “2nd Degree Felony”. Officers responded to 1300 East 8th Street (Stripes) in reference to several subjects fighting with baseball bats and knives.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with a Brandon Ramirez, who was found to be in possession of a gold Omaha baseball bat. Officers also made contact with two victims, identified as a 24-year-old male and 23-year-old female. Investigation revealed that after Ramirez got into an argument with the 24-year-old male, Ramirez struck the 24-year-old male on his left forearm and the 23-year-old female on her left knee with a baseball bat.
Both victims sustained injuries as a result of the incident. The 23-year-old female was transported to Medical Center Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Officers recovered three baseball bats at the scene. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Ramirez was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
Man with over 4 Grams of Meth Arrested after Resisting & Evading OPD Officer
Odessa Police arrested Ancuncion Villa Deleon, date of birth 07/24/1983, on 1-31-18 at approximately 0110 hours for Possession of Methamphetamine “2nd Degree Felony”, Tampering with Physical Evidence “3rd Degree Felony”, Resisting Arrest “Class A Misdemeanor”, and Evading Arrest “Class A Misdemeanor”.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on gray 2016 Toyota Corolla in the 1000 block of North County Road West. The driver of the listed vehicle, later identified as Deleon, immediately opened the door and pushed officers before running away. While Deleon was evading officers, he threw an object onto the ground.
Officers located the object, which was a plastic container filled with approximately 4.4 grams of methamphetamine. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Deleon was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
Expired Insurance Leads to Arrest of 2 Subjects with 5.6 Grams of Meth & Drug Paraphernalia
Odessa Police arrested Brenda Armida Alvarez, date of birth 03/20/1995 and Stephanie Alejandra Maldonado, date of birth 10/25/1995, on 1-30-18 at approximately 2006 hours for Manufacture or Delivery of Methamphetamine “1st Degree Felony” and Possession of Marijuana “Class B Misdemeanor”.
Officers observed a red 2001 Honda Civic traveling in the 100 block of East Murphy. A computer check revealed that the insurance on the listed vehicle was expired. A traffic stop was conducted on the listed vehicle and the driver was identified as Alvarez and the front passenger as Maldonado. Officers could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Officers found Alvarez to be in possession of six bags of methamphetamine. Officers found Maldonado to be in possession of two bags of methamphetamine, a meth pipe, seven empty baggies and marijuana. The total weight of the methamphetamine was approximately 5.6 grams. Both subjects were charged and arrested accordingly.
