Wanted Fugitive Arrested 5th Time for DWI & Found with Cocaine after Speeding
Odessa Police arrested Fernando Lara Gonzales, date of birth 06/07/1959, on 1-29-18 at approximately 0205 hours for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More “3rd Degree Felony”, Possession of Cocaine “3rd Degree Felony”, False Identification – Fugitive from Justice “Class A Misdemeanor”, and for a felony probation warrant.
Officers observed a brown 1995 Buick Regal traveling northbound in the 300 block of South Grant at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was conducted on the listed vehicle and the driver was identified as Gonzales. While making contact with Gonzales, officers could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath.
Gonzales was placed into custody for driving while intoxicated after failing field sobriety tests. Officers found Gonzales to be in possession with over a gram of cocaine. Investigation revealed that Gonzales had a felony probation warrant and four prior convictions for driving while intoxicated. Gonzales was charged and arrested accordingly.
Soliciting Call Leads to Arrest of Man Wanted out of Tarrant County & Reeves County
Odessa Police arrested David Lee Duran, date of birth 07/11/1989, on 1-29-18 at approximately 2136 hours for Burglary of a Habitation (Warrant) “2nd Degree Felony” and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (Warrant) “State Jail Felony”. Officers responded to 1000 North Dixie (Seven Eleven) in reference to a solicitor call.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with a male subject matching the suspect’s description. The male subject initially gave officers a false name but was eventually identified as Duran. Investigation revealed that Duran had two felony warrants out of Tarrant County and Reeves County. Duran was charged and arrested accordingly.
