1-29-18 Arrests of the Day
Odessa Police arrested Joseph Montez Juarez, date of birth 03/31/1984, on 1-28-18 at approximately 2321 hours for Delivery of Methamphetamine “Felony 1” and Possession of Marijuana “Class B Misdemeanor”. Odessa Police also arrested Jordan Alise Sawyer, date of birth 01/22/1991, for Tampering with Physical Evidence “Felony 3”.
Officers responded to 1120 North Jackson (Jackson Square Apartments) in reference to a disturbance. Officers made contact with the complainant, who advised that he had been threatened by a male subject with a shotgun. Officers made contact with the suspect, identified as Juarez, who advised that he placed the shotgun inside of the apartment.
While officers were speaking with Juarez, they observed a white Ford Explorer parked directly in front of the apartment. Officers looked through vehicle’s window and observed in plain view a bag containing a crystal-like substance. Officers also observed a black digital scale on the center console.
Juarez admitted that the listed vehicle belonged to him. Officers searched the listed vehicle and discovered multiple scales, multiple narcotics pipes, marijuana and approximately 53.26 grams of methamphetamine. Officers also made contact with a female subject inside of the apartment, identified as Sawyer.
Investigation revealed that Sawyer had placed the shotgun underneath the blanket of a child’s bed in attempt to conceal it from officers. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, both subjects were charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
