Odessa Police Warning Public about Dispatch Scam
The Odessa Police Department has recently received several complaints in reference to a scam involving Dispatch.
Citizens have reported receiving calls from the phone number 432-333-3641, which is a non-emergency phone number for Dispatch. The suspects are pretending to be 9-1-1 operators and advising citizens that they are returning their call.
The suspects are asking citizens for their personal information and if they would like to donate money to the “Wounded Officer Foundation”. Please know that should Dispatch call someone back, the operator will never ask for personal information or money.
Odessa Police would like to remind the public that should someone receive a phone call from anyone claiming to work for Dispatch to please not pay any money or provide any personal information.
