Odessa Police Charge Man in Connection to Robbery & Theft Investigation
Odessa Police charged Timothy Burris, date of birth 05/14/1990, on 1-6-18 with Robbery “2nd Degree Felony” and Theft from a Person “State Jail Felony”. On 1-3-18 at approximately 1830 hours, Odessa Police responded to 2604 North Grandview (Smokers Outlet) in reference to a panic alarm.
Investigation revealed that a male subject purchased a cigar. When the clerk opened the register, the male subject reached over the counter and took an undisclosed amount of cash out of the register before fleeing the scene. On 1-4-18 at approximately 0034 hours, Odessa Police responded to 3800 East 52nd Street (Seven Eleven) in reference to a robbery.
Investigation revealed that a male subject asked the clerk for change. When the clerk opened the register, the male subject reached over the counter and took cash out of the register. The male subject fought with and shoved the clerk before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Surveillance footage from Seven Eleven and Smokers Outlet showed the same suspect to be responsible for committing both offenses. Through the course of the investigation the suspect was positively identified as Burris. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, OPD detectives obtained two warrants for Burris.
