Odessa Police Arrest Midland Fugitive in Connection to Burglary/Assault Investigation
Odessa Police arrested Marcus Angel Armendariz, date of birth 01/25/1991, on 1-1-18 at approximately 0631 hours for Burglary of a Habitation “1st Degree Felony”, Aggravated Robbery (MTRP Warrant) “2nd Degree Felony”, Assault Causing Bodily Injury - Family Violence (Warrant) “Class A Misdemeanor”, False Identification – Fugitive from Justice “Class A Misdemeanor”, and for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
Odessa Police responded to 1000 East Monahans (Arbor Oaks Apartments) in reference to an assault. While officers were responding, they observed a male subject near Jeter and Barrett, who matched the suspect’s description. Officers made contact with the male subject, who initially gave officers a false name but was eventually identified as Marcus Armendariz, date of birth 01/25/1991.
Officers continued responding to 1000 East Monahans and made contact with a 25-year-old female, who advised that her ex-boyfriend, identified as Armendariz, made entry into her residence without consent. Armendariz punched his ex-girlfriend in the face before pushing her down to the ground. Armendariz continued punching and kicking his ex-girlfriend several times. Officers observed bodily injury on the victim’s right eye, neck and both arms. Further investigation revealed that Armendariz had a probation warrant out of Midland for aggravated robbery. Armendariz was charged and arrested accordingly.
Odessa Police Charge Man in Connection to Aggravated Assault Investigation
Odessa Police charged Timothy Bailey Jones, date of birth 01/16/1997, on 12-29-17 with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Family Violence) “2nd Degree Felony”. Back on 10-13-17, Odessa Police responded to the 200 block of Lotteman in reference to an assault victim. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the 46-year-old female complainant, who advised that she had been assaulted by her son, identified as Jones.
Investigation revealed that after Jones became upset with his mother, he took a gun out of her purse and shoved her down to the floor, causing bodily injury. Jones then chambered a round and pointed the gun at his mother while advising her to stay away from him. A witness advised that they observed Jones assault and point a gun at his mother. OPD detectives obtained a warrant for Jones, who was eventually charged accordingly.
