12-26-17 Arrest of the Day
Odessa Police arrested Braden Porter, date of birth 07/21/1992, on 12-23-17 at approximately 2050 hours for Retaliation “3rd Degree Felony”, Assault Causing Bodily Injury “Class A Misdemeanor”, and Evading Arrest or Detention “Class A Misdemeanor”. Officers responded to the 2200 block of East 14th Street in reference to an assault victim.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with a 59-year-old male and his son, identified as Porter. Investigation revealed that Porter had struck his father repeatedly in the right leg, knocking him to the ground. The father sustained lacerations on his left eye and right leg. An independent witness reported that they observed Porter knock his father to the ground.
When officers attempted to make contact with Porter, he shouted profanities at officers began to evade officers by jumping into the backyard of a nearby residence. Porter was caught by officers and placed into custody. While officers placed restraints on Porter, he began to shout out loud that he was “going to get everyone” involved at the residence.
Porter was transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. While at the jail, Porter looked at the OPD officer in a hostile manner and stated “I’m going to find out where you live. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Porter was additionally charged with retaliation.
