April Sales Tax Check
April 11, 2012 – The City of Odessa received its April sales tax check in the amount of $2,711,494.92. This amount includes the Economic Development sales tax of ¼ cent. The City of Odessa will receive $2,169,195.94 and the Odessa Development Corporation will receive $542,298.98.
The City saw an increase in sales tax revenue with April’s sales tax revenue total of $2,169,195.94, which reflects a $619,444.73 or 39.97% increase as compared to April 2011.
The year to date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2011-12 is up 32.64% or $3,803,871.47 as compared to budgeted amount expected at this point in the fiscal year.
In addition, 2011-12 year to date amount is above the previous fiscal year to date amount by $3,514,268.01 or 29.42%.
The City has budgeted $20,770,356.00 in sales tax revenues in this fiscal year.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax revenue from two months prior to collection, i.e., April’s collection is based on February sales.
