Odessa Police Charge 2 Subjects in Connection to Aggravated Robbery

Odessa Police have charged two subjects in connection to a robbery that occurred this past weekend in Northeast Odessa. Keith Ellis, date of birth 10/22/1978 and Jessica Dutch, date of birth 11/19/1978, have both been charged with Aggravated Robbery “1st Degree Felony”.
On December 1, 2017 at approximately 0455 hours, Odessa Police responded to 7241 Tres Hermanas in reference to a threat. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a 37-year-old female, who advised that she had attempted to purchase marijuana from an individual that she met on a dating site.
The complainant reported that she heard a knock on her hotel door and proceeded to open the door. When the complainant opened the door, a male subject tazed her, causing her to lose balance and fall down. The male subject then got on top of the complainant and began choking her, restricting her airway.
The male subject covered her mouth and held a knife to her throat while threatening to kill her. A female subject then entered the hotel room and took the complainant’s cell phone. Both suspects then fled the scene in a green older model pickup truck.
The complainant sustained injuries on her neck, face and both of her hands. Through the course of the investigation both suspects were identified as Ellis and Dutch. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, OPD detectives obtained warrants for both suspects, who were charged accordingly.
