Daylight Savings Time Begins
- Date: 03/11/2018 12:00 AM - 4:00 AM
Daylight Savings Time begins at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 11. Remember to set your clocks back one hour and check your smoke alarms.
Properly installed and maintained smoke alarms save lives. Choose an annual date, such as the time change, to check smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors to ensure they are working properly and replace batteries if necessary.
Take this opportunity to also clean dust away from the slots on the alarms so smoke can enter freely and trigger the alarm during a fire. All smoke alarms, hard wired or battery powered should be replaced every ten years.
These simple steps will increase you and your family’s chance of surviving during a fire.
